RTO’s and those involved in the Australian Vocational Education and Training (VET) Sector have the opportunity to attend many exhibitions but there are only a handful tailored for their needs. This week they are invited to attend the VET Assessment Practices Summit. The summit is having it’s 10th Anniversary and anyone attending will have the opportunity to expand not only their knowledge, but also their networks and understanding of viewpoints within the industry. It is an opportunity for RTO managers, trainers, leaders and other professionals working in the VET sector, looking to source new and innovative solutions to improve the quality of assessment practices and ensure compliance.
Keynote speakers include, Carmel Thompson President of IVETA, Yasmin King CEO of SkillsIQ, Javier Amaro CEO of Insources Education, Dr Phil Rutherford an international developer of VET Systems and Sara Caplan CEO of PwC Skills for Australia (Service Skills Organisation).
The summit includes workshops and the chance to meet representatives from the Service Skills Organisation amongst others. Workshops include:
Validation: How to better prepare validation with each assessment to adhere to standards.
Assessment Practices Requirements: What has changed in requirements, what is always important and how to make this process easier and more achievable.
RPL: How to properly conduct recognition for prior learning through principles of assessment and collected evidence.
Developing Assessment Tools: Ways trainers can develop assessment tools to efficiently and effectively assess students while meeting standards.
